STEPHANIE DEAN
Stephanie Dean
Stephanie Dean is a native of Rome, Georgia. She is an honors' graduate of Rome High School. Stephanie went on to attend Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi on a soccer scholarship, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Stephanie went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University. Presently, Stephanie is married to former professional basketball player, Mike Dean. Mike and Stephanie have two children, Michael Jr. and Andre.

Stephanie's Story
Stephanie served in Rome City Schools for eleven years. She began her teaching career at West Central Elementary and continued at Anna K. Davie Elementary. Some of her roles included grade level chair, performing arts coordinator, teacher mentor, teacher mentor program coordinator, PBIS coordinator, site coordinator for the ASPIRE after-school program, student advocacy coordinator, SST coordinator, AdvancED accreditation team member, and Northwest Georgia RESA model teacher.
Stephanie also coordinated Rome City’s Black History Program presented at the Rome City Auditorium. Stephanie often provided district-wide professional development for teachers on the following topics: classroom management, embracing cultural diversity in the classroom, incorporating technology into the classroom, Social Studies instruction, Reading instruction, and Writing instruction. It was through these experiences that Stephanie discovered her new-found passion- helping other educators succeed!
Stephanie was named West Central Elementary's Teacher of the Year in 2016 and named Rome City Schools' Teacher of the Year for the 2017-'18 school year. Stephanie finished her career serving as Assistant Principal of Main Elementary School where her main goal was school improvement focusing on teacher retention, student achievement, and school culture.
